Welcome to Carving Studio NZ.

Every single pendant, toki, and koru that leaves our studio is meticulously hand-carved using traditional and contemporary techniques. When you hold one of our pieces, you are touching a physical manifestation of time—hours of patient cutting, shaping, and water-polishing by hands that deeply respect the stone’s natural grain and flow.

We believe that true craftsmanship requires both a deep respect for heritage and the courage to explore artistic boundaries. Our designs honor the sacred geometry of traditional Maori symbols—celebrating the strength of the Matau (Fish hook), the new beginnings of the Koru (Spiral), and the eternal bonds of the Pikorua (Twist).

At the same time, our studio functions as a modern creative space. We carefully study the unique translucent quality and inner "flower" of each greenstone block to ensure that the final carving accentuates the stone’s inherent soul. This harmonious blend of cultural respect and artistic innovation is what sets our studio collections apart. We are a team bound by a shared passion: eating the stone dust, hearing the roar of the water-wheel, and watching a rough rock transform into a legacy piece that can be passed down through generations.
